Dumping Stress Out of Your Car

Dumping Stress Out of Your Car
If you know anything about the Dallas area in Texas, you know that the road ways are jam packed with vehicles most of the time. It's a way of life now that many companies are moving here to make North Texas their home. There are some benefits to the surge in population, like the fact that our home values are way up. Sean and I took advantage of that to refinance our mortgage to get some long awaited kitchen update money - yay! However, we also know that we will need to add some time onto calculations for how long it will take to get to our destinations which means more time in our cars. Oh well. That is where Young Living Essential Oils come to the rescue. You can actually carry around with you a bottle of Stress Away (tm)  from Young Living with it's easy roll on applicator. You can also purchase a car diffuser to fill with water and your favorite oil which will help to keep you calm as well as clean the air in the car - Bonus!  In an article dated 4/29/16 on www.huffingtonpost.com we read, "The olfactory nerve gives us our sense of smell and starts from our nose and enters the skull through tiny holes to connect directly to the brain. This nerve rapidly sends signals to many different parts of the brain, including the limbic system and amygdala, which are in charge of emotions, mood, and memory. These systems are also in charge of regulating our autonomic nervous system, which can either trigger a fight-or-flight response, quickening our breath, heart rate and raising our blood pressure, or can soothe us through turning on the parasympathetic nervous system, which relaxing our bodies. This theory helps explain why scents can so quickly trigger physical reactions in our bodies and have lasting effects after the scent is gone. Essential oils like lavender have even been shown to react the same way biochemically that anti-anxiety medications do with certain neuroreceptors." (1)

Other ways to alleviate stressful feelings in the car is to utilize that time to listen to audio which will further your personal development. For example, you can get caught up on reading the books you have not had time for when you borrow the audio from the library or download from Amazon, Audible, etc. Another way to keep up with your personal development is to use your smartphone to access Youtube where so many motivational speakers are available to listen to for free. Of course, you need to plan that in advance so you are not searching on your phone while you are driving. :) I know that when I have been listening to speakers teaching on topics relative to my Young Living business or development in general, I focus less on how long my commute is taking because I want to finish hearing the message before I get home and go inside where many tasks await my attention. Listening to sermon podcasts of favorite preachers is another example of how you can utilize that time. The possibilities are endless.

The main objective of your commute is to get to your destination safely, but you can arrive with less stress if you take the time to prepare your commute and enjoy the ride.

Bloom or Bee?

Bloom or Bee?

Are you living "free" in a prison cell? This peach blossom has bloomed from the bud but is forever connected to the tree. It has a gift for the world (assuming it doesn't succumb to my gardening errors 😊) but that gift is limited. Consider the bee, however, which is free to fly and touch many blooms which will gift to so many. Are you the bloom or the bee?
"..Who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord gives freedom to the prisoners." Psalm 146:7. #bloomorbee #intentionallyinfused#prisonersetfree #whywait
